It is important to equip our volunteers with new skills and information that will help them support families better and to develop their own skill set, experience and knowledge which may help them in their own career path. Additional volunteer training provides this opportunity. It also allows volunteers to meet other supporters and staff and share their experience, skills and stories.
Safe Families is ongoingly developing a range of training packages which will continue to be developed. To date Safe Families have developed additional Volunteer Trainings on Trauma Informed Support, Teenager Training and ASD Training. Further trainings are in development around Risks Outside the Home, and CVMs are encouraged to be creative in suggesting and developing ideas for future trainings.
All volunteers should be invited to join Additional Volunteer Training sessions as part of other communications with them.
