The process of repeating a host assignment creates a copy of the original but allows for key details such as the children to be hosted and the dates to be changed.
Only a Completed Assignment can be repeated so if the assignment to be repeated is still active you will need to close it first, see Closing an Assignment for guidance.
Once the original host assignment has been closed as completed, the information icon alongside the assignment will show as a Repeat icon.
Select the Repeat icon to open up details for the new host assignment.
The following sections will be populated automatically with information from the previous assignment and can't be edited:
- Assignment Title
- Start Date
- End Date
- Assignment Type
- Assignment Reason
The remaining information related to the new assignment will need to be confirmed:
- Family Members
- This will default to the family members hosted during the previous assignment but can be updated if required
- New Start Date
- If the new start date is not know, use an estimated/future date as this can be adjusted later
- New End Date
- The new end date should reflect the last night hosting is required
Once all of the required information has been entered, select Repeat Assignment to complete the process.
The new host assignment will be shown in the assignment list.
For regular host assignments, recommended best practice would be to create a single repeat assignment each time you close the previous one. This will maintain the volunteer's active connection to the family and prevent any complexities around managing multiple future host assignments.
