To build a sense of belonging for our supporters, to value supporters and keep them engaged, we will employ several methods to communicate with them through regular correspondence.
- Supporter newsletters are sent from the National Team on a quarterly basis (Not all volunteers receive updates due to opting out (GDPR)).
- Local area newsletters to all supporters from the CVT (some CVMs do termly).
- 3 week/10 weeks/18 weeks contacts whilst a volunteer is supporting a family.
- Closure surveys when a volunteer finishes supporting a family to hear their feedback.
- Additional calls/emails if a CVM is made aware that a supporter is going through a tough time (e.g. by a FSM, Church Champion, church leader or another volunteer).
- Marking volunteer life events (significant birthdays, new babies, illness, bereavement).
- Marking significant calendar events: Christmas, Easter.
- Marking milestones: Safe Families anniversaries (approval, first support, 5 families supported etc.).
- Regular events and drop-ins for building relationships with all supporters (see section 2.2 for further information).
Please note, Safe Families does desire to genuinely love and create belonging for our supporters. There is scope to send gestures/gifts to our supporters to honour, value and sympathise with them. These must always be discussed and agreed with your Line Manager prior to arranging them.
