At Safe Families and Home for Good a 1 to 1 is a two-way conversation between team member and line manager and a supportive framework which facilitates:
- Conversation and insight into the team member and team culture
- Affirmation of what the team member is doing well
- Dialogue about the team member’s context and challenges
- A focused conversation agreeing operational priorities and any support needed
- Feedback from both team member and line manager
- Clarity and accountability on next steps for both team member and line manager
It is made up of four sections:
- Section A - personal & work wellbeing
- Section B - team & culture
- Section C – operational focus
- Section D – reflection and summary

To upload your 1 to 1 form on the staff database:
- go to the 'review documents' on left hand side of staff members profile
- within the '1 to 1' section complete the date the meeting was held, the date of the next meeting and select the 'folder' to upload the file
The document will be uploaded, a note added and the employee emailed. They can then log in to 'accept' the document.
If you need to postpone a 1 to 1 then complete the 'reason' and select a new date on the staff database.
If the next 1 to 1 is not marked complete within:
- 1 week of the planned date: a notification email will be sent to the line manager’s senior
- 4 weeks of the planned date: a notification email will be sent to the line manager’s Programme Director
