Whilst our AL (inclusive of bank holidays and Christmas closure) on our contracts is in days - when booking, this has been converted into hours so the system works for all team members (especially those who don't work a standard 7.5 hour day)
To book leave:
- Log into the Staff database and press the New Annual Leave Request button on the dashboard.
- The system will show you how much AL you have left, and from which 'years' allowance you are making the booking
- Select the start and end date of your leave
- The system will then work out all your working hours in between this based on your working pattern
- You can book multiple blocks of leave on the same request form - once you have selected one period of leave, you can then add in the dates for the next
- If you would like one day off, add the start date and the end date automatically is the same date (this means it is just that one day you have requested)
- If only requesting half a day then use the 'drop down' to select if AM or PM
- The number of hours can be manually adjusted to book off the correct half day amount
- We encourage team members to book AL in half day blocks; as hours in a day can vary, we trust that this principle is applied. e.g. a team member could work a 7 hour day and want to book off the morning. Reasonably this would typically be between 3 hours and 4 hours; and therefore starting the afternoon of work accordingly. If when planning AL for the year there is one hour left at the end of the year and they do not want this to roll over, then booking this hour in is okay
- Once submitted the request will be sent to your line manager for them to approve, or when change is needed to return to you.
