Where a close relative dies (i.e. father-in-law, mother-in-law, grandfather, grandmother, grandchild, aunt or uncle); time off with pay may be granted to attend the funeral. Additional time off may be granted, please consult SLT.
Any other domestic situations will be dealt with case by case, time off may be granted but normally without pay.
- Dentist and doctor’s appointments
Where possible these should be arranged outside of working hours – where this is not possible, approval should be sought from the line manager in advance and the staff member may be expected to make the time up.
- Unauthorised Absence
Please record unauthorised absence on the staff database and inform SLT and Anna.
- Emergency care for dependent
All staff may take emergency leave to care for a dependant (must live with them). This leave is unpaid. The amount of leave to be taken is usually for a day or two until the child recovers but if the child is expected to be off school longer, the staff member should make arrangements for their ongoing care to allow them to return to work.
