Vision:
Our vision is to see a multitude of well-trained, well-supported volunteers across the UK, providing life-changing friendship and hospitality and making the very most of every opportunity to offer belonging. We want all our volunteers to be on a journey towards understanding, and responding to the call to love the vulnerable, offer hospitality and build community. We also want our volunteers to know they belong individually and are a vital member of the Safe Families team.
Values:
- Love: Loving abundantly - supporting with hope, generosity and dignity.
- Belonging: Building community – establishing positive relationships that bring security and connection.
- Faith: Trusting boldly – believing for lives transformed and in a God who can do more than we can ask or imagine.
- Empowerment: Enabling potential – confident everyone has the ability to thrive.
- Humility: Serving together – we know we can’t do it alone, so we invest in strong, honest and honouring partnerships.
Volunteer Aims:
The Volunteer Management Staff Manual is founded upon our 7 volunteer aims:
- Provide an excellent, and consistent, experience for volunteers.
- Offer belonging to volunteers by intentionally nurturing and celebrating our deepening relationships with them.
- Process new volunteers safely, and as efficiently as possible, honouring volunteers throughout.
- Build volunteers’ understanding of the challenges for families caused by loneliness, isolation, and the power of belonging and hospitality.
- Help volunteers recognise their ability to empower a family to respond to the challenges caused by loneliness and isolation.
- Stir volunteers to action through our 'Three Ways to Respond' model.
- Provide ongoing training and support to volunteers, so that they have the desire and capacity to produce consistently good results.
