Annual Leave Update
We will be adding allowances for 2025/2026 before the Christmas break so your team will be able to start to request leave for next year. We will share on #allstaffupdates when it is live.
To help this be as smooth as possible please can you do the following:
- Check your teams FTE on the staff database is correct. If your team member has a temporary change it may be that the FTE is the permanent FTE - either way please flag this with the People and Culture team so we can make sure the allowances allocated are the right ones
- The IT team are working hard on developing our annual leave booking system so that those who work non-standard hours (e.g. 9am - 3pm) don't have to also record their leave on a spreadsheet! To make this as smooth as possible, please check your teams working pattern on the staff database. This should be their contracted working pattern.
Expenses and Mileage
Recently the finance team did some training around expenses and mileage for line managers. If you were unable to attend the sessions you can now catch up here.
Flexi-time and TOIL
Here's a little reminder that the working group for this have now pulled together a video and some documents to explain how we will trial this system which will then be reviewed in April. Now is the time to chat to your teams about it and roll it out with them. Thank you to all of those who were able to join us at one of the drop-in sessions, your comments have been really helpful and have been noted to be reviewed. Probation and Induction
We want to continue to welcome new staff members well and therefore we have created a Home for Good and Safe Families Induction (and guidance for you as a line manager) The induction record, which helps to track what has been completed, has been amended too and there is now an additional induction record you can use if you are inducting a new line manager.
