To complete an assignment, the FSM must open the family record, select Referrals from the left-hand menu followed by View Referral against the appropriate referral, some families may have been referred more than once, so make sure to select the current referral. Scroll down to the list of assignments and click the volunteer’s name against the assignment you want to complete.
Within the selected assignment, scroll down to the assignment completion box and use the drop-down option to select the reason for completion. The option to request a completion survey will only show if the assignment has been connected to a volunteer and formal support began; so, selecting COMPLETED would show the option to request a completion survey, whereas selecting SUPPORT DID NOT START would not.
The VOLUNTEER REQUESTED END, FAMILY REQUESTED END, SAFE FAMILIES REQUESTED END and EXTERNAL PARTY REQUESTED END options suggest formal support did begin but that it ended prematurely and will therefore also provide the option to request a completion survey. If formal support did not take place, SUPPORT DID NOT START should be selected.
If the option to request a completion survey is showing but the volunteer did not formally support the family, you would need to review the selected reason for completion to ensure it accurately reflects what took place.
The next step would be to enter the date formal support for this assignment ended as well as a brief note to explain the situation surrounding the completion of the assignment.
When you press Update Status with the survey box selected this will complete the assignment and generate a request to complete the survey for a specified staff member in that area.
