This training is specifically designed for volunteers who are 3 years since they did their last training to ensure they are as upskilled as possible.
The 3 key areas of focus are:
1. Understanding the families that are referred to Safe Families and why our offer of Belonging is so essential; in this we particularly focus on the two key themes we see impacting almost everyone we support – isolation and trauma – and how those things leave families feeling overwhelmed.
2. Safeguarding and your role in safeguarding
3. Empowerment – how we have a focus on empowering families and move away from the natural inclination we have as compassionate people to fix.
