Once you have decided on the successful candidate and they have accepted the post, the hiring manager will need to mark them as 'appointed'. This will create their staff database profile.
To mark the candidate as appointed, go to Job Posts page. Select the appropriate person from the drop down and enter the best estimate of their start date and job title. The line manager will default to the hiring manager but can be changed.
If there are any outstanding references to send (as permission was not given) - ensure you have asked the candidate if they can now be sent. Some people may want to delay in order to speak with their current employer themselves. Once permission is given, these can then be manually sent by the people and culture team.
Please inform the People and Culture Team of the following information by emailing peopleandculture@safefamilies.uk
- Start date (or a rough idea if its TBC)
- Full Time Equivalent (FTE) for example if someone is full time, they will be 1.0FTE, if they work 3 days they would be 0.6FTE - if you are unsure, send the hours to be worked and People and Culture will update it

- Office
- Who will be line managing this person
- Salary band (or that you will be going to remuneration panel)
