If the applicant has given permission, the references will be sent once the applicant is marked as shortlisted. These will then automatically be uploaded to the applicant once returned and can be read prior to interview.
If an applicant did not give permission, the reference will be sent after they have been offered the job and permission has been given.
Some references will be verified on the phone after the applicant has been offered the job and any additional information will be noted on the staff database.
If there are any concerns raised within references, these will be discussed with the Senior or Regional Director in the region.
It is important to note that we must have satisfactory references before an employ starts work with us. Therefore, when talking about start dates with a new employee be sure to let them know that it is a 'working towards' date as long as we have all the information we need.
